The National City Christian Church Gospel Choir, under the lively direction of Valeria Foster, began its musical leadership of the 8:30am worship service in 2002. The choir’s primary purpose is to minister to people through Gospel and African-American spiritual music, accompanied by piano, drums and tambourines, in a style that is more informal than the 11:00am Traditional Service. Made up of nearly a dozen spirit-filled and spirit-led singers, the Gospel Choir, in addition to its worship leadership, has sung concerts with noted contemporary musician Ken Medema and for Black History Month at the United States Capitol Building and has offered concerts here at National City Christian Church with proceeds going to various charitable organizations in the Washington DC community.
The Gospel Choir is open to singers of all levels of musical experience and background and would welcome you with open arms to their rehearsals on Tuesday evenings at 7:00 p.m.
