An Open and Affirming Congregation
National City Christian Church is an open and affirming congregation of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). We welcome persons of all gender expressions and sexual orientations to Christ’s communion and to the full life and leadership of the church.
Are you looking for a church home or a congregation where you can find affirmation as an LGBTQ person? Join us for worship on Sundays at 8:30 a.m. (Gospel) or 11:00 a.m. (Traditional). If you have questions, send an email to Rev. Michael McMahon or phone him at (202) 797-0103.
The LGBTQ Community is a social and service group within the congregation, particularly committed to furthering National City’s mission to help us all to “journey toward a fuller commitment to Christ by being an inclusive church family which fully embraces in its life and ministries people of every race, gender, age, culture, economic circumstance, sexual/gender orientation, family configuration, physical or mental condition, and all other distinctions which are the rich tapestry of God’s creation.” For more information about the LGBTQ Fellowship at National City Christian Church, contact Rev. Michael McMahon at 202-797-0103.

Second Wednesdays, 7:00 p.m.
Please join us on Wednesday, March 8, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. for the second in a three-part series on stories of faith and transformation in the Gospel of John. During our March session we will study and reflect on the story of the man born blind, John 9:1-41, a Gospel passage that is filled with surprises. All are welcome on the second Wednesday of each month to these sessions that explore faith and scripture from the perspective of LGBTQ persons who are also followers of Jesus.
